Shepherds' Play
The Shepherds’ Play is a tradition in many Waldorf schools. The play originated in the middle ages and was brought to Waldorf schools by Rudolf Steiner. The play is focused around the birth of Jesus, the shepherds’ simple lives and the innkeepers’ practical interests. The Shepherds’ play celebrates new beginnings with humor and song interwoven throughout. The play is performed by members of the faculty and staff as well as local friends of EWS.
Journey Through the Grades
Are you curious about what a Waldorf education looks like from Grade 1 - 8? Join us on our journey through the grades. Halloween Journey ~
Eugene Waldorf School is offering a Halloween Journey on Thursday, October 31 for our early childhood classes and 1st-3rd graders. We create a magical land to travel through including a pumpkin house and jolly bakers! It is a very child friendly event to impart wonder in this special season.
Costumes are a welcome addition! A few considerations to help make the Halloween Journey happy for all the children are:

Each class is scheduled to travel together:
4:30: Rosebuds family/child class
4:40: Lilypad preschool

5:25 1st grade

5:45: 3rd grade
6:00: Other community members
We encourage your family to arrive a few minutes before your Halloween Journey time. If you have children in more than one class, please choose one of the class times that is most suitable for your family.

Site Beautification Day - All welcome!
Join us in caring for our beautiful campus. Volunteers can use their helping hands to tend to site projects, pull weeds, rake debris etc.

Join us for a warm cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some tasty treats while catching up with fellow parents. At the same, we'll be hosting our Gear Swap. IF you have any outdoor clothing items (including shoes, hats, or gloves) that your child has outgrown, please feel free to drop them off. If you child is in need of new outdoor gear for the year, come and see what's available!
